Albertson's 101 (jewel-osco)

Q: What is a Preferred Card?
A: At Albertson's you will need to sign up for a "Preferred Card" in order to get the sales price on their items.

Q: When Albertson's runs a Save $5 Instantly Promo (when you spend X amount of dollars, or X number of items) can I do multiple groups to Save $10 or $15 dollars at a time?
A: When it's a Save INSTANTLY promo, you can do multiple sets in the same transaction- and it will deduct the right amount of savings. Just be cautious and watch the register screen to see that it doesn't make a mistake. 9 times out of 10 it takes off the right amount of savings.

Q: When Albertson's runs a save $10 On Your Next Order can I buy 2 sets of products in the same transaction and save $20?
A: NO. When it's a SAVE ON YOUR NEXT ORDER you must do separate transactions in order to get a $10 Catalina each time.

Q: How do Albertson's Double Coupons Work?
A:

They are good on any manufacturer coupon up to $1 in Value
So, if you use a $1 manufacturer coupon, and then the doubler- they will take off another $1
If you have a coupon for $1.01 or $1.50 ect., they will NOT (or should not) take an additional $1 off
Since the Doubler is a Store Coupon- You can not use them in conjunction with another In Store Coupon. For example- If there is a In Store coupon (in their ad) you can not use that coupon and a doubler- since that is technically 2 store coupon (just like you can't use 2 manufacturer coupon on 1 item)
There is a limit of 3 Doublers per transaction or visit. In some areas the coupon specifies Limit 3 Double Coupons per family per day...
Doublers are typically good Sunday through Tuesday, but it is becoming more common for them to be good Wednesday - Tuesday
If you are buying an item for $1.88 and you have a $1 manufacturer coupon- and a Albertson's Doubler- THEY HAVE TO ADJUST THE DOUBLER DOWN TO $.88. Please don't let your checker tell you you can't use the doubler. Just nicely explain to them that you are not expecting overage, and that they need to just adjust down the value of the coupon!
Q: What is a Catalina?
A: Catalina Marketing Company operates the check-out coupon machines at Albertsons and many other stores. The coupons themselves are called Catalinas. Because these machines are not owned by the stores, many managers and employees are not as educated as they should be on Catalina Policy.

Go here for EVERYTHING you need to know about Catalinas!

Q: Can I roll my Catalinas?
A: YES! You can use your 1st Catalina and do a 2nd transaction with the same items, use the 1st Catalina to pay and a new Catalina will print!!

Q: Are your math skills are horrible as it looks when it comes to the Albertson's Match-ups??
A: No! Here's why:
When Albertson's runs a sale where you spend $25 and save $10 on your next order... we factor the $10 savings into the 1st transaction. This is deceiving if you are doing only 1 transaction, but for most of us Krazy Coupon Ladies we will take that $10 Catalina and use it on the next transaction in which we buy $25 worth of General Mills products. Often during the week we will do 10 transactions with products in the promo.
